Anastasia Bay
Anastasia Bay's paintings are often in large scale, characterised by secure brushstrokes and rough drawing marks applied over colour field backgrounds. She depicts human figures in a way that reminds of Minoan frescos and Egyptian ceremonial images. Bay graduated from the prestigious École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and had shows at (among others) Sorry We’re Closed (Brussels, 2020), Spurs Gallery (Beijing, 2020), Brussels Gallery Weekend (2019) and Everyday Gallery (Antwerp, 2019).
