Uniting personal experiences with references from history of art, “Epoch” is an intersection of works created by Matthew Cole during the turbulent world events in the past three years. The three seemingly topically different canvases share a feeling of comforting solitude and nostalgia one might experience when traveling. The artist invites the viewer to perceive his memories through his personal perspective while creating a sentimental atmosphere and longing for the time that has passed.
