Stephen Whittaker (b. 1991) is a self-taught, New Zealand born, Paris based artist. His work primarily executed through various painted & assembled mediums looks to create a moment of pause & reflection, a nod to the surreal nature of the domestic & natural worlds we frequent. Achieved using predominantly recycled natural materials, Whittaker looks to both pay homage to history while keeping an ironic eye towards the impending future. This is most evident with his recent work on “Ruins” and his upcoming Paris show on “The fountain of youth.”
