Martin Kacmarek

Martin Kacmarek, born 1996,  is a Slovak artist who explores through his art the spontaneity of shapes, volumes, colors and textures. After a period in which he focused primarily on the digital medium and computer games, his artworks now reflect his interest in the agricultural world and the DIY culture. Balancing airbrush, acrylic and oil sections, Kacmarek captures the “it-is-what-it-is” attitude through his depicted characters and scenes. The displayed scenarios take place in almost exclusively murky outdoors: the sun shines bright out of the picture, covered with clouds creating a gloomy atmosphere. Kacmarek wants to question and suppress also through his technique the socially accepted aesthetic norms, and consequently shows humoristic, satiric and ironic bidimentional figures. His art has been exhibited in group and solo shows in several countries such as Slovakia, Germany and Spain.
