Bobbi Essers (born 2000 in Enschede, Netherlands) is an artist based in Groningen, Netherlands. She earned her Fine Art degree from HKU Utrecht in 2022 and was awarded the prestigious Buning Brongers Prize for Painting (Amsterdam) the same year.
Influenced by youth and queer culture—where long nights blur into early mornings and sleep becomes secondary—Essers creates large-scale paintings that celebrate and immortalize her closest friendships. Her vibrant, immersive works challenge traditional gender roles, rejecting the notion that gender or sexuality can be defined by a single visual identity.
Through expressive brushwork and a bold use of color, Bobbi Essers captures the energy, intimacy, and freedom of her community, positioning her art at the intersection of personal narrative and broader cultural dialogue.
